Unique executive program identifies, encourages and helps to develop and strengthen island leaders
HONOLULU Colin Yost, general counsel of RevoluSun, Hawaii’s leading provider of residential and commercial solar systems, has been selected as one of 38 business leaders in Hawaii to participate in the prestigious Pacific Century Fellows program. Modeled after the White House Fellows Program and founded in 1996 by former Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann, Pacific Century Fellows program identifies, encourages and helps to develop and strengthen leaders in Hawaii.
“I am deeply honored to be selected among the talented group of business leaders for this year’s Pacific Century Fellows program,” said Yost. “I am looking forward to meeting and learning from my classmates who represent a broad cross-section of our community. Following completion of the program in June, I hope to be able to make significant contributions for the betterment of all residents in Hawaii.”
A panel of judges reviewed written applications and conducted personal interviews in selecting this year’s class. In selecting the fellows, the judges take into consideration the candidates’ educational background, current career responsibilities including special achievements and comments of superiors, involvement in community activities, communication skills, and strength of character. Those chosen have demonstrated strong intellectual and leadership abilities in the early and mid-stages of their careers as well as show the potential to make significant contributions to the community in the future.
The 10-month Pacific Century Fellows program provides participants with direct contact with senior community, social and government leaders. The unique executive leadership program aims to develop relationships among individuals who are committed to exploring innovative and constructive solutions to far-reaching challenges facing the state of Hawaii as well as the nation.
