July 9, 2013 – Solar energy firm RevoluSun today announced the opening of a new office in Nyack, New York. Led by owners Nicholas Grisanti and George Landi, this is the solar integrator’s fifth office in three states. As the third RevoluSun franchise, the New York office is located at 38 S Franklin St. Nyack, New York 10960 and serves homeowners primarily in Rockland, Westchester and Orange counties, with plans to initially hire 15 sales, marketing and operations support personnel.

As a former successful commodities trader, Mr. Grisanti has a strong background in finance. Mr. Landi spent the past two years selling solar successfully in New Jersey and prior to that had an extensive career in commercial real estate.
Rapidly Growing Market
New York is a hot market, more than doubling the amount of solar installed last year. According to data released by the City College of New York (CUNY), by the end of 2012 New York had 14 megawatts of installed rooftop solar photovoltaics (PV), up from 5.5 megawatts in 2011. The majority of these projects were through small, individual installations. Mayor Bloomberg and Governor Cuomo are committed to aggressive renewable energy objectives, and the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) identified the State of New York as one of the markets to watch.
Electricity rates near NYC are well above the national average, ranging between $.15/kWh and $.20/kWh or more. To support the adoption of solar PV, homeowners benefit from a utility rebate (based on the size of the system) of up to $9,800 in New York State and up to $16,000 on Long Island, along with a personal tax credit up to $5,000. Coupled with the federal tax credit of 30 percent, a solar system in New York will pay for itself within six to eight years.
