Honolulu-based solar company RevoluSun will outfit its installers with sun-safe caps designed by a Maryknoll sixth-grader who produced the line of hats as part of a wish from the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Skylar Soares, who has been diagnosed with lupus, used her wish to open her own retail business called
Hi Sky. Soares, whose condition requires here to wear a hat to minimize her sun exposure, wanted to use the brand to educate children about the importance of being safe in the sun. The cap includes a piece of cloth in the back that protects the wearer’s neck from the sun.
