• Room size (length × width × height)
• Insulation (walls, ceilings, attic space)
• Window types (sliders, jalousies, etc.)
• Open spaces vs. closed rooms
• Sun exposure and airflow

Example: A 24′ x 15′ bedroom with 8′ ceilings = 2,880 cubic feet. Multiplied by 45 (our heat load factor), that’s 16,200 BTUs. We round up to the next size—usually 18k BTU—for proper cooling without overworking the unit.
